Kholat
Erzählt von Sean Bean, einem der populärsten britischen Schauspieler. Kholat ist ein Erkundungs-Abenteuer-Spiel mit Horror-Elementen, das von wahren Begebenheiten wie dem Unglück am Djatlow-Pass inspiriert ist – dem geheimnisvollen Tod von neun russischen Wanderern, der zu unzähligen unbestätigte Hypothesen geführt hat. Der Spieler wird direkt in die grenzenlose Landschaft des unwirtlichen Ural-Gebirges geworfen, mit der Aufgabe herauszufinden was wirklich passiert ist. Jedoch wirft jede neue Antwort weitere Fragen auf.
Das Unglück am Djatlow-Pass ist eine wahre Begebenheit, die sich im Winter 1959 ereignete. Neun erfahrene Alpinisten brachen zu einem Trip in das nördliche Ural-Gebirge auf, der fatal endete. Die Köper der Wanderer wurden verstreut am Hang des Kholat Syakhl gefunden.
Russische Ermittler kamen zu dem Schluss, dass ‚eine höhere Gewalt‘ für ihren Tod verantwortlich war.
Storyline
Inspired by the real-life Dyatlov Pass Incident, the story sends the player deep into the frozen Ural Mountains to retrace the final steps of nine Russian students who vanished on Kholat Syakhl, a peak whose name means „Dead Mountain.“ Guided by a narrator who recounts the details of the tragedy, the protagonist arrives by train in the town of Ivdel and sets out on foot along the doomed party’s route. As the weather turns and darkness gathers, strange phenomena begin to appear: glowing orange footprints in the snow, eerie lights, and shadowy humanoid figures. Venturing across a vast and desolate wilderness, the lone traveler must gather scattered notes and coordinates that hint at what truly happened on the mountain, all while avoiding the hostile presences that stalk its slopes.
